Looked like a good idea.

. but we didn't fit. We examined all of these suggestions, and this device struck me as the most functional. What we found: 1. Trunk side panels do not stay in place during operation. I made it a little better by sticking double sided velcro to the panels and side of the trunk. "Walls" still shifted after some time, but it helped a little.2. We have Lhasa Apso, around 15 pounds. The small breed has short legs and a long body. The dog fit snugly in the carrier, but the neck hole and cord combination was too big to be pulled on easily enough to keep the dog from jumping out. I can't imagine he could have held a really small dog that wanted to go away. 3. First we tried the rack on my bike, a trail bike with low handlebars and no front fender. Do not go. The bottom of the bag rubbed against the wheel as the dog's weight was added. Worked on my wife's "Cruiser" with taller grilles and fenders. However, this changed the force on the bike's handlebars and she fell immediately upon take-off as the weight pulled the handlebars sideways. At least the dog was unharmed. A more experienced driver would probably have had fewer problems. I would suggest training with the right weight first, pedaling properly and pulling the trigger. After the accident mentioned above, we removed the bag from her bike and I put it on as a backpack. The dog is not that heavy, but it was quite uncomfortable for me to ride with him on my back. It's much easier to leave the dog behind! I think a better and more functional system would be a sturdy basket mounted on the back of the bike with a strong mesh lid or fully closable head opening.
