Keeping Sanity on Dogs

I bought this for my cat. Has 3 settings. Beep, buzz and shock. Strengths 1-9. I obviously tried the shock on myself because I love my cat and don't want to kill this guy. And setting 1 on the shock absorber is enough. I put it on my knee and it was like one of those muscle stimulators. I always start with a buzz at 6 and work up to 9. And when that stops phasing him out, which usually happens late at night when the problem really starts, I give him a shock of 1 and he gets the message . When I got pregnant, every time I woke up to go to the bathroom, my cat would think it was time to eat and meow that nasty meow from 2am until we woke up around 7am and all the pillows off the bed were thrown ๐Ÿ˜‚ Fast forward to the birth of the baby. He still does and started going into the nursery and patting the baby in the cradle and meowing because he thought the baby would wake up and feed him and now he's sorting the trash. He had been a house cat all his life so there was no way for him to survive on the streets and it was the next best option to saving our sanity other than giving him away. Of course. It works. I work on the sound setting first and then the shock because shock 1 makes him jump around like cartoon cats but he gets the message and goes to bed. I did notice a slight indentation in the hair where the collar is, but I think it's just because it needs to touch his skin to be effective. I always check that there are no burns as I have read in other reviews and so far everything has been fine. (I've been using it for about 3 weeks now) It's just that the hair is pinned up like there's been a collar in there for a while. I also only wear it at night after dinner and take it off in the morning.

Pros
  • Switch between shock, vibration and tone. The shock may be too strong for some dogs, so this collar also supports sound and vibration modes. Switch between nine intensity levels to find the right setting for your pup.
Cons
  • Crumpled
