I'll start with the pros. I love how wide these gates open; It's wider than my last two and I can get the laundry basket through without lifting it over it. I also like that they open both ways, these are the two main reasons I chose this gate. It was also the easiest thing I've ever had to install and it didn't budge at all. now con there is only one, but it overshadows everything. Not sure if I just have a broken one or not but this gate is SO hard to open and my hands hurt every time. Half the time the button doesn't seem to be pressed at all. Even trying to open it with one hand is not possible. My two older boys were only able to open it once in the few weeks we had it and it got so annoying and frustrating that we just let them climb over it. Unfortunately it has already been opened and used so we can't return it so now begins the search for a new one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
