DEWALT DWE402l 4-1/2" 11A Paddle Angle Grinder Too big and heavy for most people. Safe to use with one hand. We also need an ergonomic rating of zero I bought an 11 amp dewalt so I wouldn't burn 7 amp angle grinders the problem is that it's too big for most people to touch with their hand and pull the stick. It's also very heavy and fatigue becomes a problem when you have to use it for a long time. The biggest problem is that you have to open your hand and loosen your grip to pull the paddle switch. If you have a heavy disc in your angle grinder, the torque will rip the angle grinder out of your hand when you open your hand to pull the paddle switch. The Paddle Switch Safety only makes the problem worse as you have to open your hand to reach the safety of the tool, which is already too big to wrap your hand around and squeeze hard. I'm sure the manufacturer will insist that it's designed for two-handed use, but the reality is that when you're welding, you're using it with one hand and no protection. I've never seen a welder use a two-handed angle grinder with the guard on. I would recommend getting a 7 or 9 amp angle grinder and getting an extended warranty if you tend to overuse and burn angle grinders. I have an air angle grinder that I use for extreme use at 100% duty cycle, but it's noisy and you need at least a 7-10 horsepower air compressor to use it all the time. If you're an ex-quarterback welder and your hand can barely fit in an XXL glove, this will make a five-star angle grinder. The power of the angle grinder is great, you can carry heavy loads on it for a long time, and it does not heat up.
