Review on Enhanced Tetra Whisper Air Pump: Optimal Airflow with Minimal Noise by Michelle King

I bought this pump about 6 months ago and it has already failed. This is my second Whisper 100 and both failed around the same time, 6 months. Having always been happy with Tetra products in the past, I assumed the first failure was an accident, possibly a design flaw. Then I bought a second one and it didn't work either. This time I got curious, so I opened up the pump and found that both diaphragms were ruptured. I then opened up the original pump to find the same problem. I have had aquariums for over 40 years and never before have vibratory pumps failed so quickly. I know I take good care of them, including changing my airstones regularly whenever I notice a reduction in airflow. Tetra's response is that the problem is with your tubes and/or aerostones and is not covered under warranty. They give no indication of what the problem could be, it's all your fault. I think since they have so many comments on broken membranes they will either increase the detail or at least provide better installation and usage instructions.
