I want to start by saying I have bad feet, the worst. But I like to walk long distances and I have the strength to do so. It's hard to find shoes with some support and a solid sole that don't irritate my bones and cause pain in the ball of my foot. I also don't want to spend megabucks on hiking boots if they all wear out over time. I usually buy and wear several pairs a year. I decided to try Ryka as they are made specifically for women. To ensure I have leg room for my bunions I bought the wide width in my size. I've had them for about a week now and I can usually tell if a shoe works the moment I try it on. You were great from the start! The wide width is wide enough in the toe area, but not too wide in the heel area. The shoes are light and have good underfoot cushioning. They are very attractive and I feel like wearing cute walking shoes like my friends with good shoes. All in all I'm very satisfied, my feet are happy and I'm ready to go mega miles with my new Ryka Ultimates. Will be buying another pair soon to wait in the wings when I need new hiking shoes.
