There are many electric tire inflation pumps on the market today. The two most common types are stand alone units like this one and old fashioned 12V air compressors that run from the cigarette lighter or power outlet in your car. Both types work well. Here are some pros and cons. Advantages of this device: 1. Standalone so you can use it outside of the car2. Nice storage box included 3. Compact size is easy to store in your car4. including adapters for sports equipment and bicycle tires5. Pressure gauge is exactly 6. The auto-off function is very convenient. The disadvantages of this device compared to 12V air compressors: 1. Limited battery life and slow charging2. The price is higher than most 12V3 air compressor. The pump down speed is lower than most 12V air compressors4. The short air hose on this device can make inflating car tires difficult. If you only use an air pump to inflate car tires and especially if you don't carry it around the car all the time, I think a compressor is the best choice for most people because it's faster and you don't have to worry about that this device is discharged. On the other hand, if you really need a pump that can be used away from the car, this works great.
