They work and work very well. This is one of many such replacement gas cartridge nozzles. They are all designed to give you a chance to weed out the dirty monsters that the California EPA "experts" have foisted on us under the pretense of consumer safety. I have a few things to note about replacement spouts: First, don't throw away your bottle's original screw cap (with the hole in it), at least until you are sure the replacement screw cap will work with your gas. Allowed to. I've replaced various crappy @&*%##$ non-pourers on a dozen glasses and have had at least three where the new screw cap DOES NOT MATCH THE THREAD ON THE GLASS. With this particular product you get not ONE, but TWO replacement screw caps, but I'll tell you that NONE OF THEM WORKED on one of my jars, so I was glad I kept the old one. Second, best if your jar is completely empty and dry before drilling a vent hole. In most cases, at least a few bits of plastic fall into the jar and it's easier to pull them out when the jar is dry. Alternatively, you can add a liter or two of water to the jar and rinse out any leftovers, repeat if necessary. After that, you can either wait a week for a few drops of water to evaporate, or run a hair dryer through a metal funnel. down the open drain and dry for five minutes. .Or you can just say hell and live with a few drops of water mixed into your gasoline [guess which method I prefer.] Third, if you are drilling a hole for a breather valve, DO NOT drill through it. SW IN THE BANK! The instructions may or may not tell you to drill a hole in the center of the flat area near the top of the jar, but it makes no difference if you drill it an inch off center and you won't leak if the little breathing valve can't close, that rough, ugly seam. Fourth, I bought three of these and didn't need a spout extender on any of them. I suppose if you need more than 8 inches to get to a deeply recessed neck then a 10 inch extension might be a good idea. Personally, I have never owned a car with such a poorly designed filler neck. I haven't tried it, but I bet you can stretch the opening of the extender to fit over the main spout of the jar - if so, the extender could serve as a spare spout rather than just another piece of plastic junk of no use. and which you probably can't find anyway, assuming you ever need a really long spout. All of these wonderful words of wisdom are just my humble opinion. And remember folks, free advice is worth every penny you pay for it.
