Review on 🐠 AQUANEAT Circulation Pump: Enhance Aquarium Water Flow with Submersible Powerhead & Suction Cup by Jill Weingartner

Lots of performance for the price but not too much for my 40 gallon tank. Really purifies water in combination with an in-tank foam filter and an external canister filter. The fish also love to play in the current they create. However, as another Revain customer ("Mike") mentioned in his review ("Great until it stops working"), mine stopped working after the same amount of time. I bought mine on September 9th and found on November 24th that it stopped working; and no exchange was possible. At first I couldn't figure out how to take it apart, but thanks to the shirt I was able to take it apart again. (There's a simple notched thread in the center of the basket, but it appears to be screwed back.) I pulled the impeller and, finding no obstruction, simply put it back together, put it back in the tank, and drowned it out. him back. It worked fine again. It seems that the impeller is separate from what turns it. At first I thought it might be because the fish is pushing the basket around, or because the shaft generator needs to be mounted horizontally or pointing up so the impeller doesn't gradually slip off whatever is spinning it. So I also adjusted the angle. I also attached a piece of string to the basket so I can see right away if it's working or not (see picture). On December 2, the propeller was still turning, but the current had drastically decreased. Again the impeller seemed to slip off whatever it was spinning. I reinserted it and increased the angle upwards. 12/3 the same problem occurred again. I took out the impeller, which had quite a bit of play (a gap between the elements on a thin metal rod that runs through them). I squeezed both ends to try to reduce play, put it back together and it works again. But I'm really tired of dealing with this over and over again. I expect it to crash again, at that point I'll update. I do not recommend this product. Throw it away. Don't buy it, it's junk.
