I've tried 3 other collars on my dog that didn't work for me, my dog or both of us. The regular collar wasn't secure enough, choking my dog and didn't stop my dog from pulling throughout the walk. It was incredibly uncomfortable and tiring for my hands. I then tried a simple rope loop collar, but that was worse as it also suffocated my dog by digging into my hands (although it was safer). The leash is also attached. This worked much better as my dog couldn't pull hard on the leash without jerking his head. It provided the security and hand relief I needed, but my dog HATED IT and kept stopping and trying to rip it off his snout while walking. He also stepped over the leash when lowering his head to sniff while walking. The leash attaches to the leash under his snout, which breaks the walk when I redirect the leash to avoid chafing. I used this collar for about 2 years until I discovered this collar. This collar has no issues with previous collars/leashes. My dog does not step over the leash as it is tied behind his head. He cannot pull hard because the collar exerts a corrective force that stops him without panting or jerking his head. Neither he nor I feel uncomfortable. My dog still doesn't like the feel of the muzzle, but it's a huge improvement as he only tugs on it a few times while walking, not all the time. The collar seems exceptional. qualitative. The material (nylon?) looks solid, with double stitching, metal eyelets. The collar is a little difficult to set up at first, but then it becomes easy to use. Please note that you cannot use it with a long leash or retractable leash. If you release too much pressure, the muzzle loop will fall and slip off. However, within minutes we both changed our walking style and I found it to be very effective in controlling my dog without making us both uncomfortable. My 14 year old was able to master it in about 10 minutes. I would recommend this collar to anyone looking for a solution to walking an "energetic" dog. My dog's neck was just between sizes so I went with the recommended smaller size and it fits perfectly.
