As a beginner to quilting, I've tried many different things when ironing: starch, semi-starch, non-starch and plain water, all with their pros and cons. Best Press is known to many quilters as one of the best ironing sprays out there and I finally decided to give it a try (after a couple of sad nights of ripping bits out due to starch issues) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised . It reinforces the fabric enough that you can "work" the details better, but doesn't leave an odd "overcoat" on the fabric. I've never had any issues with shine, peeling, or burning and can't think of any real downsides to this stuff other than its price (which is a bit more than I'm willing to pay, but sometimes you pay for quality). ). I just ordered my second 'jug' of this product and I really don't think I will ever go back to other agents. I love the scent of peaches and cream too!
