The filter itself works well and quietly. Adjustable flow on both the inlet and outlet is a good option. Relatively easy to clean. However, the heating function is almost useless. Maintaining the desired temperature is practically impossible if the ambient temperature deviates by more than, for example, 5 degrees from the set one. My guess is that the poor design of the inside of the canister doesn't allow enough flow to circulate around the heater, causing it to shut off sooner than it should. If you increase the setpoint to compensate, the tank temperature will become higher than desired as the ambient temperature approaches the tank temperature. I even bought a smaller version of the 50w heater to see if that would help as I'm running at a reduced flow rate but that didn't help. I wouldn't buy it again if I could.
