I love these things. The braided exterior allows you to tighten it just the right amount (great if you're feeling a bit bloated one day and need some slack) and they stretch a bit so you can breathe. They are also EXTREMELY durable. I bought another one because the last one broke but the metal part broke. The webbing is fully intact from years of use as my only belt. Don't worry about these things collapsing. The only concern is if you manage to get something that dries or sticks to it, as between the woven and corduroy types it can be impossible to remove from the braid, causing it to get wet. Although it doesn't bother me at all, I will never buy another type of belt again.
