Review on Blackstone Grindstone Tormek Specifically High Speed by Randy Holt

Tormek I have had one since 2006 and have always used the standard 'grey' stone, although I mostly use HSS tools. As promised, this black stone makes a big difference as it sharpens the HSS a little faster than a standard stone. Also, the stone seems to wear down better, less prone to the "grooves" that form when sharpening turning bits with the SVD-185 tube. Tormek gear is expensive, but the quality is always top-notch - and their support, including backwards compatibility and parts for older machines, is top-notch. I chose Advanced Machinery as my supplier as they are Tormek's US distributor and always provide fast shipping and great service. The stone arrived very well packaged, in very thick cardboard and lined with shredded paper. Installation was easy and the stone was almost perfectly accurate right out of the box - just a few simple passes with a diamond leveler.
