Review on Premium Chrome Honda/Acura Ball Seat Wheel Locks (14mm x 1.50 Thread Size) by Gorilla Automotive by Joshua Flame

Short but just enough for

I was looking for wheel locks for my Honda Accord. After removing the existing lug nut and doing some research, I found that Honda uses "ball seat" or "radius seat" lug nuts. A wheel lock for this type of seat doesn't always seem to be available from parts retailers like Autozone or Pepboys (a cone seat is most common). You want the right fit to ensure there is adequate seating area in contact between the wheel and the nuts. This wheel lock is the correct fit (for my Honda alloy wheel) as evidenced by tightening a wheel on my wheel and then removing it. Note that the seat itself has fairly wide contact marks (not a line/ring, but a stripe several times width.millimeters). At first glance the nuts appear to be too short, but the presence of the contact marks on the seat confirms that it is in fact long enough to make firm and secure contact with the wheel itself. The color matches my old nuts (shinier, of course). It's noticeably shorter, but it's a way to show that the locknut is in place. One pinion was not removed as after installing only four locks the hex side of the key was already showing slight signs of wear. It's just a very small "dent" and scratch from contact with the socket, but nothing to worry about.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
