I run/walk plus size 5k and 10k, am currently training for a half marathon, need a vest to hydrate and make phone calls you while walking at a cardio/racing pace for 2-4 hours straight. There is currently no vest on the market that fits my body, but this fits snugger than any other I have tried. It's a universal size, supposedly fitting drawers up to 50 inches, and works on mine, which isn't exactly 50 inches. It's not ideal, but it's the only one I've found that actually works as intended for me. (I still wish they offered 2 sizes instead of one. I think xxs-m and L-xxxl would be good choices.) Anyway, this versatile design is on the right track as the bungee is closed . Above and below a woman's anatomy, rather than straight in the front, and the bungee closures on the sides don't restrict but move as you breathe and are adjustable to a multitude of sizes. Love the magnet that allows the bladder bite valve to "snap into place" on the vest for easy use while running! I love that it has just enough space for everything I need to carry around, although an improvement would be to add a BIT more space in the lower pockets to fit my phone on rainy days. However, on sunny days, the upper left side has enough space for my phone, the lower zippered pocket holds energy gums, the open lower pocket holds Nathan's small bottle, and the corner pockets hold 2 other small items such as gel or powder, electrolyte. I love that it comes with a 2 liter reservoir and there is plenty of room in the backpack for backpackers who may need to carry clothing and meals for the day. Since the pockets have to be so far from my body I was worried they might rub my arms but they didn't at all and the vest was zipped up perfectly so it wouldn't rub, chafe or move I did it. my two hour run at race pace the other day. The bubble worked great although that part of my back got a little warm so I think I'll freeze the water next time and see if that helps bring the temp down. There was no sloshing, rubbing, or moving of the pack, and no water in the bladder. The bite valve was easy to use and the tube went into the bladder perfectly on the first try. The vest is SUPER light and didn't feel like it was adding any weight other than the weight of the items I was allowed to carry and I love that these items carry my core so I don't have extra energy for mine limbs to carry water or something that allows me to run/walk in much better shape even when I get tired. I wore it with a racer top and had no complaints where the vest was next to my skin (and that was all my shoulder blades). When I enjoy these activities later in life, I will never have a body small enough to fit in "regular-sized" chassis, but I still benefit from the increased performance and comfort that the latest gear/ technology offers. It's constantly frustrating (and a little embarrassing) to be marginalized by never being able to find gear that fits and works properly because those items are still only for people of perfect athletic build (and often first developed for men). ). ). I know I'm in the minority, but women and plus size runners EXIST, and we need gear that FITS US, as do people of better physique (if not more!). This is an untapped market and I wish there were more options, but until then I appreciate that the Ultraspire is at least going in the right direction with this more feminine, plus-size design. However, the industry still has a long way to go and I hope that progress continues. EXIST and require high quality gear, as do those with more traditional body types. We also hope that the developers/manufacturers of these devices will start to produce more integrative products.
