Returned, would not trust this knife in an emergency

Bought with intention of attaching to a kayak fishing life jacket but didn't like it and returned for a number of reasons. First, it's too small; - I wasn't expecting it to be the size of a machete but my hands are a little above average (glove size XL) and I feel like I can't get a proper grip unless I put my thumb on the top of the blade. You can get by with a short handle if it's solid, but the handle on this knife is anything but that. Second, I didn't like the locking/unlocking. Do you have to press the safety catch to release the knife from the sheath? I tried it with one hand and found it almost impossible. It works great with two hands, but I don't think I'd want to rely on any safety gear that I can't quickly and reliably operate with one hand. Finally the knife was blunt. I was happy to see that both had jagged smooth edges, but the cutting ability of both was mediocre. I tried cutting several loops of 3 strand polyester rope and neither side cut it on the first try. I chose Gerber River Shorty. I have attached some photos of both knives for comparison. While Gerber falls into the same "small" category, I feel like I can count on it as it scored A+ on all three of the above. Thank you for reading.
