Review on Powerful Andis 66325 Barber Combo Clipper/Trimmer Kit for Ultimate Styling Precision by Heather Genevish

Look elsewhere - there are better options.

I've had this set for about 18 months. I cut my hair once every 2-3 weeks. First with the big clippers - they're a bit clunky, but the knobs on the handle make it easy. The crash barriers are plastic and I would rate them from poor to acceptable. I have used both 1 and 2 and 3 guards. it tends to work better at longer lengths. I've found that I get a relatively uneven cut in various places on shorter sections and have to spend a lot of extra time checking places to get a good result. I wouldn't attribute this to maintenance as I'm very keen on using oil and spray all the time. The bottom line is that it gets the job done if you're willing to put in the extra time, but for the money it could/should be better. Trimmer - it only worked for 6 months, then shut down completely, turn on switches and nothing! While he was alive he did a pretty good job of clipping around the ears and neck. Could be sharper/stronger. I was very disappointed that it stopped working. I had to go back to my cheap $15 drugstore trimmer that I use for my eyebrows/nose/ears to replace when it broke. And frankly, this cheap trimmer works just as well or even better than the Andis trimmer.
