I ordered this product after seeing that it was recommended by a professional cleaning service. After following all the instructions, the dog urine odor will be mostly gone, but a strong, pungent odor will still remain. The powder itself had such an odor that it stung my nose and now that I've used it I can still smell it. Leaves an ammonia odor. I left it wet for 30 minutes because the instructions say it takes at least 20 minutes to work. Of course the carpet got very wet because I wanted to get at the filling; However, I used the extraction machine until it stopped picking up liquid, so I assumed I got all of the pad. He warned that it would activate ammonia if it didn't dry completely, but I don't understand a product that claims to have enzymes that neutralize bacteria and break down uric acid crystals, leaving an ammonia smell. When it neutralizes the odor-causing components of urine, there should be nothing left that could leave an ammonia odor. This is normal but now I feel like the carpet needs to be cleaned with carpet cleaning shampoo or Odoban to get rid of the after effects.
