Review on ๐Ÿด R Murphy/Ramelson New Haven Oyster Knife Shucker (Regular) - Shucking Clamming Seafood - Made in USA by Ryan Dillon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great shaker. But chipped 20 uses ago

Great shuker in function and style (although wish the wood handle was sealed/stained etc) but the blade broke before I could shake out 20 oysters a little flimsy and the alloy feels too hard (read brittle). See attached pictures. As preserved, there were machining marks on the underside of the curved blade tip (see photo for parallel grooves), probably indicative of the method of manufacture. I'll see if the manufacturer provides a replacement after contacting me and will update here if necessary. If necessary, the blade shape can be reshaped to remove the roughness of the chipped area and then reused (until it chips again!).

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Band
