I live far away in sticks. Cellular service is available in some locations. But if you move or are in the wrong place, no service! I live in a trailer and have a store about 200 feet from my house. The store is a metal building and there was no cellular communication in the store at all. Since I only have cellular and satellite internet, I thought of internet telephony and cell phone range extenders. Then I found this product. It just works great! I have a Pantech 2050 phone and it connected straight away. I found the spot on my trailer wall where I had the best signal (3 bars) and using an old car phone mount I mounted it on the wall there. After I plugged it in for the first time, it was like this. I take my phone with me when I go somewhere and when I get home I put it back in the holder. It has a blue light at the base to indicate it is connected to a mobile phone. As soon as I enter the door, it's already connected! You don't have to do anything, it's connected and ready to use as soon as you're within range. I'm really not sure of the range, but I plugged my phone into the truck about 40 feet from the trailer and it connected. The connection wasn't very good at this distance, but it connected. Setting up the phones was easy too. Within 10 minutes I set it up with time/date, ring type and volume. Now I can walk around the house with a hose and hear calls perfectly. As for the phone in the store, I actually had to move the base. For some reason my computer monitor is buzzing, and since the monitor is between the base and the shop, the reception on the shop's phone wasn't that good. I just moved the base to the other side of the monitor and the problem was solved. Now I have an excellent phone line in the store. This product completely solved my problem. Now all I have is cellular and two phones that work just as well as my landline. The push to talk feature is great too. It is great for business to home communication. this. "Baby, put another coffee maker" or just "I love you". It's really worth the money.
