Then crumple them up and throw them to the cat. They make a great toy. Besides that, this thing is great! I have an obnoxious Malinois that insists on getting in both litter and cat food. We installed a cat door in the bathroom. That's a much better idea! They threw away the magnet on the door of this thing because it now comes with a nice hook and latch. The cats were in before I even assembled them (they're mean too) and we play in them less than ten seconds after they're assembled. According to another reviewer, I put a litter box down and used a giant high walled litter box, also according to another reviewer. There is still room on the sides so it is not tight. If garbage spreads, I'll let you know. So far it's a win! The dog can get food on the top level if it is not behind. If you have a small dog, it's fine up there or at the very top where I placed the cat bed. Hope it lasts! Feels sturdy and looks great so I have high expectations!
