Update: This thing has practically stopped working since I wrote the review below. It still shows that it works well. This shows it's getting a good signal from my router. The lights blink the way they're supposed to blink. On my devices trying to connect they show good signal strength coming from the repeater. But when I connect to the extender, I lose the connection again within a few seconds. My devices keep connecting to and disconnecting from it. It has become useless. I was skeptical about this device as it is significantly cheaper than many alternatives but decided to give it a try. I was actually a little surprised that it works as well as it does. You must be very careful when following the installation instructions. There is an "A" method and a "B" method depending on how you want to set it up. If you're doing 'B' like me, you need to make sure you start with step 1 'B' and not 'A', and you need to pay attention to the page numbers in the instructions so you don't accidentally Do step 4 of "A" if you want to do step 4 of "B". I tried A first and it didn't work, but B worked fine and I got it working in a few minutes. I've found the device in a location where my Wi-Fi signal is "good" not "excellent" but that doesn't seem to cause any problems. I bought it to boost my signal in a couple of rooms in the corner of my high rise building. Now the device is on the same floor as my router. It provides a good signal for the room on the next floor directly above the device and for the room below. My computer, iPods and iPads all connect to the extended network with no problems. For some reason my Xbox and Roku had to reboot my router to access the internet even though they were connected to an extended network. After I cycled the router, they connected to the internet with no further issues. A strange effect: several of my Xbox games had to go through an advanced "server initialization" when I launched them for the first time after installation. extended network. The games just seemed to freeze but we were patient and in the end they made it and worked fine after that.
