The jacket is ideal for light to moderate activity in colder northern climates. There is one small complaint: After two weeks, the loop to hang the coat on the hook broke. I was very surprised. My heavy winter raincoat, also from Columbia, lasted a year without fault. Otherwise, Columbia has proven to design and manufacture jackets that live up to their stated purpose and function. For me, Columbia zippers are the industry standard for reliable use. Despite the one issue, I highly recommend Columbia products.
