For the past two months, one of my cats has urinated on a pile of clean laundry on the floor and then, about a month later, into a basket of clean towels. It was my fault that the underwear was lying around for so long, but it was weird for her because she never had any behavioral or urination issues. There weren't any new changes for her, so I figured she was starting to dislike the feel of our year-old Tidy Cats Unscented. She likes to pee in the dirt when I plant pots. I've looked everywhere for a "softer" bedding with fine grains like earth or sand and decided to give it a try. I bring the bag and put the new tray next to the current one (with Tidy Cats). She followed me into the bathroom and as soon as I finished pouring, she started rummaging around excitedly. She urinated immediately and seemed to really enjoy the texture of the very fine granules. It immediately started to sag. Then she poops straight into a box of Tidy Cats, which I find interesting. Our other cat has never had trouble urinating, but she may also like Garfield litter. As this is a multi cat litter it would be perfect for my two cats. I plan on storing both the boxes and the fillings while they use them. It doesn't smell at all. The litter appears to be the same size as grits or cornmeal/grains, which is a big difference from Tidy Cats. The bag weighs 10 pounds but doesn't feel heavy at all. I don't plan on flushing trash down the toilet at the moment, but it says it can be flushed. I've tried other flushable fillers and they come in very handy in small apartments. No dust or smell. I love that it's natural and sustainable! I think the price is right and cheaper than other natural fillers we tried. I love using sustainable cat litter so I've tried almost all of them. Most were too expensive to maintain and very dusty. Other natural litter granules are similar to Tidy Cats, so this fine litter from Garfield is the best choice for cats with sensitive paws. This would be ideal for an adopted cat without claws (choose no declawing!) or a kitten as their paws are very sensitive. I hope this makes my kitty happy and comfortable for the long haul!
