Review on Columbia Women's Splash Hibiscus X-Large Coat, Jacket & Vest Collection by Kenneth Stanford

Great summer/spring rain jacket!

I wore them to the baseball game at 4:05pm today and was comfortable the whole time. It rained all day, enough to delay the rain for more than an hour, followed by a light drizzle during the first two innings. The temperature was between 68 and 77 degrees. I was wearing jeans and a light short-sleeved t-shirt and a thin sweater. I took off my sweater as it got warmer. The jacket worked perfectly. It kept me dry and didn't stick to my skin. It also kept me at a comfortable temperature and didn't cause overheating. I ordered a medium size which was just right for me. I'm 5ft 2in, 148lbs, 38-32-40, cut like a tailored shirt over clothes; just right, but not tight. There was enough room to allow freedom of movement even with a thin or medium-weight sweater. As I turned at my waist, the jacket flew down my hips without holding. I was also able to move my arms freely in all directions. I ordered it in red hibiscus. It is a beautiful reddish orange or coral color. The picture appears to have a slightly pinker hue than the actual jacket. It was difficult to zip up, but zipped up easily once she started moving. It was also easier to zip up the second and third time. Each of the two side pockets is approximately 9.5 inches. Height x 6 inches. There is a 7.5" x 6" inner chest pocket. The fabric rustles gently but isn't noisy like my daughter's signature HyVent jacket. The lining is made of thin nylon. except for the upper back, which is made of mesh material, and the hood can be adjusted with a Velcro fastener. Center back and tie at front. Finally, it could be folded carefully and packed into a 1L ziplock storage bag like those bought for air travel (no food storage bags as their opening is too small).

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Requires outlet
