I'm pretty stingy with reviews. I don't brag, and when I LOVE something, it usually gets four stars, not five. I give Smith's Rosebud Salve a full FIVE STARS, with no limitations. man) and had to talk all day. The lip balm and Vaseline lip balm weren't enough. Then I found Smith's Rosebud Salve and it was right. WOW. I apply a little to my lips before bed, then a little more before work and voila! No more painfully cracked lips. Normally I don't even have to reapply during the working day. Just once in the morning, once in the evening. That is amazing. And it works on EVERYTHING, not just dry lips. Do you have a painful, cracked, dry heel? Place a generous spoonful on top and cover with tape. Dry hands in winter? Put some on your poor hands before bed. It works out. For those who don't want to use a can, Smith's Rosebud Salve comes in a tube (I carry a tube to work and keep the can at home). This works pretty well, but I usually find pewter to have the best consistency and I like the old-fashioned design. I always keep a supply of at least two extra jars and one extra tube at home. To be honest, I don't even remember surviving the winter before this ointment.
