Review on Kapoosh Batonnet Knife Block Woodgrain by Todd Markel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Innovative and well done

I first saw it in person at this year's National Restaurant Show. The full range of sizes, shapes and finishes was on display at the stand and was well received by visitors as it was unique and some of the models were sold at the show. Instead of buying one there and lugging it back on the plane, I ordered a pair from Revain while I was there (and it was about the same price as direct). Slotted knife holders are not very hygienic, so you won't see them. in restaurants. They also aren't very flexible when it comes to adding new knives to your set, which may be slightly larger than what your slotted holder is designed for. The Kapoosh holds almost all knife sizes, from the smallest paring knife to the widest chef's knife. Long plastic straws fill the cavity and your knives slide inside. Straws can be taken out and cleaned from time to time and are definitely more hygienic than deep wooden slots which can harbor bacteria. I seem to remember seeing other versions of this type of mount. , but I can confirm the quality of Kapusha. There is a wide range of wood and plastic finishes and sizes to choose from.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was
