It has a thicker than normal 3.5mm microphone cable. I bought it because my thin, vinyl-coated mic cable that I found made a buzz when I plugged my iPhone or headphones into my guitar amp. This one didn't cause a 60 Hz hum. Therefore it must be well shielded and have strong connections. The exterior is made of fabric and in general the cable is less flexible and bendable than a standard vinyl cable. But it's flexible enough, and a slight nausea means it lays flat, doesn't get tangled, and can be stored cool. It seems that the stress is relieved well from the wire jacket to the plastic tips. I was glad that the plastic tips are small in diameter. They slide easily through the holes connecting the recessed headphone jacks on my headphones and iPhone case. I like it so much that I've ordered a second one. Aside from the fact that they work great, I'm glad their weight gives them such nice tangled cords that are over 10 feet long.
