Long story: I have an old motherboard with an early third party USB 3.0 chipset that I use as a file server with external USB 3.0 drives. The faulty chipset kept spinning off the drives, requiring the controller to be cycled on and off or the system rebooted. annoys. So I was looking for an add-on card at a reasonable price. I saw that it has a chipset from NEC/Renesas who have a reputation for making reliable controllers. No installation problems on Windows 10 and I haven't had a single failure in a month of operation. Short Story: Works great and inexpensive. Recommended if you need a pair of USB 3.0 ports and a PCIe 1x slot.
