It's amazing to see a genuine Damascus steel knife selling for only $50. A few years or decades ago, you probably would have paid hundreds of dollars for something like this. This particular Damascus steel has whorls or "eyes" similar to the Damascus steel barrels that were so popular 125 years ago. There is no doubt that this is a real deal as the pattern of my knife is slightly different from that shown by other buyers. If they were fake, they would all be the same. Either way, you couldn't fake anything so well. Too complicated. Also the handle is made from the most durable and strong material imaginable, very nice on its own but also with a cool inlay reminiscent of a Japanese family crest. Of course it also depends on how the knife cuts! Mine was razor sharp and still holds an edge well.
