EDIT: Glad to hear I'm not the only person having this issue. Respawn support informed me that I was the only one reporting this issue and started treating me like absolute crap. The chair broke again - this time the gas spring - and they refused to honor their warranty as required by law in my state. I was told that I "reached the warranty exchange limit" for the seat, which is not in the contract and not legal in my state. I actually bought a replacement lift from Revain and was able to get a 35% refund from the XL team (the primary caregiver was unaware of this option). I could have returned the chair for a full refund but this one has lasted ok for 7 months which is much longer than the previous one. I'm 6ft 7in and about 315lbs so I bought this chair specifically to prop me up because all my previous chairs were poorly rated office chairs and as a lifelong gamer I wanted to see if racing chairs would help me in the Staying zone I bought my chair in March - the first chair failed after 2 months, then a replacement after a month, then a second replacement after 5 months loses the ability to support weight and the back of the chair falls to the lowest position. So basically, don't lean back or you'll fall. Support has been good so far in terms of warranty but they seem to think sending a new chair will fix the problem. the problem each time versus understanding a technical problem and approach. I suspect the lever in the 400 series is the same part that the manufacturer puts in the lower rated lines, but can't confirm.
