I chose this brand and shape because my VW Golf has very pointed wing mirrors and the best position is usually at the extreme end of the wing mirrors. My RAV4 comes from the factory with wide angle mirrors built into the side mirrors, a smart idea and they work great. Unfortunately, VW hasn't built this feature into its mirrors. They offer additional blind spot visibility, which helps, but to be honest, I never trust mirrors alone, and I wouldn't trust the fancy new electronic side impact detection systems. I'm still glancing at the lane I'm about to pull into, and my goodness guys, get your turn signals on. Is it really that hard to flick the switch so we don't have to guess what you're going to do? Hopefully the tape that comes with these mirrors is strong enough to keep the mirrors in place for years. We will see. I may need to update this review.
