As the only alternative to those inefficient metal clamps, these velcro ace bandages are very welcome. I've been using them for as long as this type of product has existed. With proper care, the elastic Ace bandage is quite durable. My only advice would be for beginners to be careful when removing the bandage, ie hold the stocking with one hand while you slowly pull the very strong velcro out of the stocking's fabric. Otherwise, the stocking can easily break by drilling a hole at the attachment point.
