The problem with the center of gravity and more fragile than I expected
The base plate doesn't weigh enough to hold the entire device in a stable position, so it's quite wobbly during operation. The flexible arms are attached to the baseplate in such a way that you don't want to squeeze them for fear of cracking the plastic, but they wiggle too much unless you're medieval. A CG problem unless you can find a way to attach the baseplate to the workbench with straps or screws.
