Doesn't quite fit my car

The taillights on my 2012 Grand Sport didn't fully engage. I've tried adding some lube, filing some fiberglass, and trying to pry the clip open from the inside to no avail. The light is quite free, which is difficult to live with. Not sure if I want to try the front as I saw a comment about the front not fitting. Any ideas would be great.
