This good multi-purpose kitchen knife you will find will be one of the survivors. So if you rummage in your kitchen/household drawer 15 years from now you will find it and it will be one of the few things you still have from that time and era. It's durable, sharp and lasts a long time. There are 2 reasons I only gave 4 stars. This knife was bought to replace a Cold Steel K7 kitchen knife I bought about 20 years ago (you know what I mean) but the K7 has a 7" blade and Cold Steel doesn't make K7s anymore, so I had to settle for this 6-inch version. My photo compares two knives. Another reason for the star deduction is that the K7 came with a sheath that kept the knife in it at all times, but this 6 inch knife doesn't have a sheath, it's just a knife in a drawer. But in terms of functionality, durability, ergonomics and value, I would give it 5 stars.
