Breaks easily - love the concept, wouldn't recommend it

I used this once and wanted to get it out of the closet and it broke. It's on a small tool box on the carpeted floor. It may have been knocked over by the cats and my husband put it back on without looking, but I'm wondering if it cracked from temperature changes because it never had a chance to fall onto a hard surface in a closet. Quite expensive and now that it's broken the edges are very sharp. Next time I'll try double sided tape and a more flexible magnet.
