Cooler than memory foam

So I have a Tempur-Pedic Cloud Lux king bed and I've always slept hot. The biggest complaint from people with memory foam is that they sleep pretty warm and I wake up in the middle of the night overheating. My wife likes to sleep with heavy blankets, what's the problem, when we take off the blankets we can't sleep because we like the weight on our legs. I also had a bit of back discomfort, possibly due to the fact that this bed is very soft. It got me thinking and researching. I've read that natural latex sleeps much colder than memory foam and doesn't retain heat because it's much more porous and breathes better. So I was wondering if I could get a latex mattress topper and put it on top of the memory foam bed for a cooler sleep. Also, latex is a bit firmer than this particular memory foam bed, which can help ease back discomfort. I took a chance and ordered this topper. It didn't have any weird smells when it arrived so I immediately put it on my bed under the existing zippered cover that my bed comes with. That night I immediately noticed that I slept much cooler and felt much more comfortable all night. The bed is also a bit firmer, but still very comfortable, and the memory foam underneath didn't bother me. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I have the cooling effect of the latex with a little more added support but I still get the benefits of the memory foam and cradle effect. I recommend this to anyone who feels their memory foam bed is too hot as it stays much cooler throughout the night. It doesn't initially feel icy like gel foam, but maintains an even, neutral temperature. I definitely recommend trying it.
