I bought the first pair more than a year ago. I need something that is "water repellent" but still basically a hiking shoe. Asics are my favorite casual/walking/tennis shoes so I gave them a try. My first pair is just starting to break, so I have a second pair that I'm breaking in for a trip to the UK (it doesn't rain in summer does it? LOL). In any case, they fit me, they are quite comfortable and repel moisture well. I don't expect miracles in a downpour, but walking my dog in light to moderate rain keeps my feet fairly dry. I also wear them for cycling and they are quite weatherproof (cold/water/wind). Not sure if they deserve 5 stars but I was pretty close to that rating - definitely 4+.
