Definitely not what I expected

This is a very good set of markers but I do I have to say it's not what I expected. I have watercolor crayons and pencils that work really well for me, but these markers, while very good quality and rich in pigment, are not as blendable as the other shapes I've mentioned. If you're an artist who colors and draws your comic or cartoon characters, then this type of marker is probably for you. These markers don't seem to disperse that easily when water is added, but they mix well with each other. With watercolor crayons and pencils, it's very easy to spread a little color with water, and these markers don't have the same effect. For example, I used a marker to paint over a red brick wall, adding highlights of different shades of brown mixed mostly with red, and it looked very nice, if a bit cartoonish. However, coloring the stained glass drawing was difficult because the marker is so deep and sharp that it doesn't blend in or disappear into the white background of the paper. Instead I had to use watercolor pencils to achieve this effect. There is no control over the shading of your art. I wouldn't recommend you buying this as a toy either as they are more expensive than your average marker.
