I used to cut my filters myself because it was a lot cheaper, but my filter has an odd shape and it takes too long to cut. Much easier to just put one of them in and be done. The material seems to be of good quality and the white filter pads are better than the ones that came with the canister filter! If your time is more important than pennies, then I recommend these quick and easy filter pads! Perfect fit.
