AT A GLANCE:. The board arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. It was just as beautiful as the photo PROS: The board is beautifully finished. It's heavy enough to stay in place even during the toughest felling. I did some serious research before making the investment and the board really lives up to my expectations. CONS: In order to season and maintain the board, you must purchase and use Mystery Oil and Board Balm monthly (or more often depending on usage). This keeps the board out of service for 2 full days - or longer if used heavily. It's this extra maintenance that often has me glancing fondly at my Boos board as I chop garlic on my maintenance-free bamboo board. RECOMMENDATION: Proper care, the Boos board is a one-time investment, as are quality knives. Be prepared to purchase additional Mystery Oil and Board Balm to keep your board in good condition. I also bought a Boos applicator, but a clean, lint-free dishcloth will work too. Maintenance takes two days and must be done at least once a month.
