No wonder this drawer insert has a 5 star rating. That was great. We used it in a house we bought as a guest house that has standard size drawers. It takes up just over half the width of the drawer and about 4/5 the length of the drawer and still fits perfectly to the height of the drawer when loaded. It was a great way to cleanly remove the knives from the countertop. I considered one of the magnetic wall knife holders, but it holds more knives than the ones I was looking at and is better suited for boarding house use. Most knives around the house are no longer than 8" and will fit perfectly, however large chef's knives over 10" or knives with large lined handles may not fit. For me it goes perfectly with my collection of Victorinox knives and if you are unfamiliar with Victorinox Fibrox knives I suggest you familiarize yourself with it; for the price they are excellent.
