It does exactly what it promises. Sets a vacuum and the caps stay secure, I turned it upside down and it held. Actually looks good too. I think dating is pretty fun but good for obsessive guys. And if you're throwing a party and a few bottles are open and some aren't done yet, you have three closures to work with. I think it goes without saying, but the vacuum cleaner doesn't work with sparkling wine. However, having the bottles to hand that are sent to the fridge has already proved to be good, I don't need to worry about that make the possibility of spillage. I've never done this before, but I understand that red wines extend their lifespan once opened in the fridge, probably most pronounced in the summer. This way the wine stays good between vacuum and refrigeration. I would say these are very good stoppers.
