I really hate it when my Prismacolor pencils break with most sharpeners, but this Generals sharpener works really well and sharpens quickly without breaking. It also has the advantage of a transparent reservoir so you can easily see when it needs to be emptied and you can also follow the sharpening process as the blade (Made in Germany) is clearly visible inside the body. Other factors that speak in its favor: it fits comfortably in the hand, it is larger than many manual sharpeners; has a flat bottom so it sits fairly securely on a desk, yet it's not too big to fit in a standard sized school pencil case. (And I personally find the triangular design and color choices aesthetically pleasing.)
