I bought these to use as light gloves in late fall/early spring. They work great. I use them when it's cool and windy. They keep the cold out without adding bulk. I've used them on a bike with short finger padded gloves and they've been great. They did not restrict my movements and kept me warm. The palms have grip pads that allow you to wear them while driving or holding tools or sports equipment. If you live somewhere that gets chilly and you want lightweight gloves that keep out the cold but aren't bulky, buy a Trekker.
