daughter *must* have this dress for the light dance at school. She is almost 7 years old, she is taller but she has a thin build. It's difficult to find clothes that she will actually wear AND that fit her. 39#, 48.5″ height, 21″ chest, 19.5″ waist. However, I read all the reviews and made a wild guess and ordered two sizes (4/5 and 6/7) and crossed my fingers. Waist size 4, but leg length 7 or 8. For dresses, I usually give her a size 5 because a size 6 is too big for her. it falls too loose, the waist is a bit high and the armholes at the hem are too big. The length is probably a few inches above the knee (assuming it doesn't stay in place). where the waist hit and the length wasn't much different than 4/5 (maybe 1/2 to 1 inch) but the armholes were MUCH larger and the fit was even looser. super cute stretchy spandex material. It's thinner than I expected. We had similar dresses that just feel nicer. For the $15 we spent we're happy.
