This is my second tripod adapter for binoculars. My first was another brand (about double the price of this model) that got lost hunting, so I have experience with adapters that actually work. This adapter attached securely to a tripod, but the attachment of the binoculars was unsatisfactory. Problem 1. The binoculars thread screw is quite short (about 1/4 inch of the thread included in the binoculars). Problem 2: Even if you tighten the attachment on the binoculars, make a smooth slight adjustment at the first touch of the binoculars, the binoculars loosen enough to rotate on the tripod adapter. reduces the amount of thread available in the binoculars. Problem 3: I tilted the binoculars back and forth and the connecting screw kept loosening. The extra rotation of the binoculars combined with the binoculars short threaded screw can cause the binoculars to twist away from the screw if you don't look closely. If you use these, you will need to attach the binocular strap to a tripod so that it doesn't fall to the ground when it detaches from the screw.
