EYES HERE - You MUST apply thermal paste immediately after applying a small pea sized amount to the center of the IHS. The paste will air dry easily. I couldn't time it, but the insertion time is maybe more than 15 seconds. In addition, when applied, the paste begins to crumble and simply peels off the IHS. Not sure if heating the tube helps, but I zipped the tube up and then dipped it in a cup of hot water before using the paste. Noctua NT-H1, Arctic MX-4 and Cryorig CP-7).
